Join us for story time, a book signing, a book-themed activity, and refreshments. Authors will have books available for sale at this event. Staff from the Mobile Public Library will also present information on our local libraries. The cost of this event is included in the museum’s admission price.
 

Friday, June 7, 2019- 1pm—3pm
Simone Lipscomb, Author of Magnolia Manatee’s Long Journey Home
Simone Lipscomb will read her book to the audience, and then sign books. Following the reading, Elizabeth Heib, from the Dauphin Island Sea Lab will give an educational presentation on tagging and tracking manatees.

 

Friday, June 21, 2019- 1pm—3pm
Abby Kennedy, Author of Goodnight Mobile
Abby Kennedy will read her book to the audience and then sign books. Children will then be invited to make a craft to take home following story time. This session is appropriate for younger children ages 3-7.

 

 

Friday, July 19, 2019- 1pm—3pm
Karyn Tunks, Author of USS Alabama: Hooray for the Mighty A, Mardi Gras in Mobile, and Jubilee
Karyn Tunks, author of 3 books about Mobile’s history and culture will read her books to the audience and then sign books. Children will then be invited to make a craft to take home following story time.
