Temporary Parking

From February 15th to February 22nd, Royal Street will be closed between Government Street and Church Street.  This closure is in association with the work going on for the construction of Mardi Gras Park.  When this section of Royal Street reopens, it will be temporarily narrowed and no on-street parking will be permitted.  This means that the parking normally available in front of the History Museum of Mobile will not be available while the construction work continues. The on-street parking will be restored when the project is completed this summer.

If you are planning to visit the History Museum, we recommend parking in the parking lot opposite FortCondé on Royal St., or the parking lot adjacent to the Mobile Convention Center off Water St.  If those parking lots are full, parking is usually available under the Water Street/I-10 overpass accessible from Royal Street south of the museum.  In addition to these free parking locations, there are two paid lots available within one block of the museum on Church St.
