Celebrate America 250 at the History Museum of Mobile!

Join us every Thursday in June from 10:00 AM–Noon for hands-on history workshops designed to bring America’s past to life! Each program begins with a fun educational lesson followed by an interactive activity guests can create and take home.

June 4 – Make Your Own Revolutionary War Drum
Discover the important role of drummers during the Revolutionary War and learn how drumbeats communicated commands on the battlefield. Then create and customize your very own drum inspired by Revolutionary War and America 250 themes!

June 11 – Make Your Own Time Capsule
Celebrate 50 years of Colonial Fort Condé with a special architectural tour and the history of the fort’s own time capsule. Guests will design their own capsule, write a letter to their future selves, take a commemorative photo, and receive a special keepsake to include inside.

June 18 – Design Your Own Flag
Explore the historic flags that once flew over Mobile during the Colonial period and learn what they represented. Then design a custom flag that tells your own story and symbolizes what matters most to you.

June 25 – Write Your Own Declaration of Independence
Step into the shoes of the Founding Fathers! Learn about the creation and historical importance of the Declaration of Independence while using traditional writing tools similar to those used in 1776 to craft your own declaration.
