12:00pm - 1:00pm
The History Museum of Mobile’s upcoming Learning Lunch Program is on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 12pm and will feature local author and journalist, David Preston. The topic of his presentation is The Alabama 167th Rides the Rainbow: The AL 167th National Guard and their service during World War 1 in the famed 42nd Rainbow Division.
As a life-long history nerd, David grew up going to Civil War battlefields for summer vacations instead of Six Flags and Disney World. David is a Political Science Alum from the University of South Alabama, a recovering politician, and a journalist. He is the author of three novels, Unknown Soldier: World War 1 (which follows the real-life journey of the AL 167th), 1828, and The Killer Family: A Martello Family Thriller. David is a 3-decade resident of the Gulf Coast and a graduate of Daphne High School.
The History Museum of Mobile invites the public to attend the free Learning Lunch lecture series. Guests are encouraged to bring their lunch and enjoy a presentation on an historical or cultural topic.
