Seeds Across The Atlantic Workshop

August 22, 2026
2:00pm - 4:00pm

What if a single seed could change the course of history?

Join us on Saturday, August 22 from 2-4pm at Colonial Fort Condé as we explore the incredible journey of the plants that crossed the Atlantic during the colonial era. Transporting plants for months at sea was no easy task, from fragrant culinary herbs to medicinal plants, discover how botanical exchange transformed the lives of people in the New World and shaped the gardens, kitchens, and apothecaries of the Gulf Coast.

After learning the fascinating stories behind these historic plants, you'll create and plant your own colonial herb pot, bringing a little piece of history to your own home.

Whether you're a history buff, plant lover, or just looking for a unique afternoon experience, this hands-on workshop offers the perfect blend of history, gardening, and creativity.

This workshop is for ages 12 and up. Admission is $20 per person. Space is limited, so reserve your spot today and come discover the seeds that changed the world!
